These effing lil' diet destroyers lol.

(I know, I know.....as if I was on a diet in the first place.....shut up.)

Look, if you haven't tried senorita bread yet, you haven't fully lived. Warm super-soft bread with the perfect touch of buttery sugary filling.....what's not to like?? Melts in your mouth, impossible to indulge in just one of them. Don't worry, they aren't too sweet (I don't have much of a sweet tooth myself). You can sample one if you visit!

I'd say that these are lifesavers if you're looking for something to bring at a house party in-a-pinch (they can whip up a box of 60 in less than 15 min.....unless there's a long line of customers). Super affordable too.

Shop is small and there is no seating; pretty much a pick-up-and-go spot. They sell other goods here also (hopia, empanadas, kutsinta, leche flan, etc.); haven't tried those things here yet. It's kinda funny that the music speaker quality is exceptionally good at this place.....the staff members (very friendly btw) enjoy singing along to the Filipino music here lol.....just give them low-quality microphones and the place would sound like as if you're at an actual Filipino family party.

Easy lot parking (basically located in the Manila-ville in South Sac.....the same plaza with Seafood City, Valerio's, the Jollibee off to the distance).

Starbread Bakery has been on my list of places to visit, and I finally made the time to visit before work this weekend. My husband came with me because he was dropping me off for wok. I picked up some breads for my dinner (at work) and for the following day.

THE GOODS - I purchased a bag of pan de ube (4 pcs/bag) and a bag of pan de sal (didn't count how many pieces for this). The breads were very fresh and soft. The pan de ube had just about an equal ratio of bread to filling, so expect get some ube with each bite. The ube was not overly sweet (like I've experienced at some other Filipino bakeries). It was just the right amount of sweet and added flavor to the bread shell. The pan de sal was like your typical pan de sal, except it was nice and soft and not too dry.

PRICE - The price for both of these was $4.50. Pretty reasonable given the freshness, taste, and quality of the breads.

CUSTOMER SERVICE - Upon entering, I was greeted by a staff member. I wandered about the small bakery looking at everything. There was so much I wanted to try, but I didn't want to buy too much because my husband and I were in town for just the weekend. At that point, I had a bag of pan de ube in my hand and my husband had a bag of pan de sal in his. A different staff member came out from the back. I didn't know what the senorita bread (that was advertised throughout the bakery) was, so I asked the second staff member while pointing at one of the signs for the senorita bread. She said that it was the senorita bread. I tried to clarify and asked more specifically if it had filling, and if so, what filling. The same staff member got annoyed and replied, "Cheese and sugar." Then she immediately asked if we were ready to check out. I was still debating whether or not to buy a senorita bread to try, but okay, I guess it was time to check out? This entire time, my husband and I were the only customers there, so I didn't understand what the rush was about.

ENVIRONMENT - Clean and neat little bakery. Everything was organized and labeled. Although the shelf with the breads was filled with many bags, it was easy to distinguish which bread was which.

Overall, I'd give this place a 4 out of 5 stars (1 star down because of the service). The next time I'm back, I'll be trying their famous senorita bread, flan, and hopya ube.

I purchased 1 spinach feta croissant, 1 bag of pan de ube, and a bag of guava rolls. The spinach feta croissant amd guava bread was ok.

I was pretty disappointed with pan de ube because I didn't taste anything..wasted calories  next time I'm getting my baked goods from Valerio's

Senorita bread is crack! Their eggrolls here is pretty good too. Nutella and cream cheese filled senorita bread. You're welcome.

Once we were eating senorita bread in the street. We saw my neighbor wandering about so gave him some. His jaw dropped, drooling, as he exclaimed "why did you do this to me!" - knowing he would forever be craving some.

Senorita bread from Starbread Bakery is a guilty pleasure in the finest way possible. The warm softness that pulls in a just slightly after your first nip sweetness is to - well, maybe not die, but definitely drive across town for. They know it, because it is always fresh and ready from the back - along with a whole lot of other sweet treats. Maybe someday I'll try those!

My experiences here have always been short. Crave, purchase swiftly, try to save some to bring home while really eating them all with the box on your lap while driving.
